Mary Mabbutt a fine art postgraduate student from the Royal Academy Schools, has taught in a number of art colleges in the UK, including: St Martins School of Art, Cheltenham, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Exetere, and Bristol. Mary has most notably taught on the Fine Art degree course at University College Falmouth (formally Falmouth College of Arts). Teaching at that college since 1979. At present Mary is also teaching at UCF across a range of courses that include: Illustration and Textiles.

Mary Mabbutt’s painting is dominantly figurative, she has exhibited her work on both sides of the Atlantic ocean. Many of Mary’s shows have been exhibited at the Grafton Gallery, London (formally the Patron Gallery). Mary was a prize winner in the John Moores (Liverpool UK) competition in 1995. She also received a major artist’s award from the Art’s Council of England, South West, following that award Mary in 2003 staged a solo exhibition of her artwork at the Newlyn Art Gallery, Cornwall. Many examples of Mary Mabbutt’s paintings reside within private art collections and also much of her work is permanently held by the Arts Council of Great Briton, the Metropolitan Museum of Modern Art, New York, USA. During June 2006 Mary Mabbutt’s work was exhibited at the prestigious ‘Flowers Central Gallery’ 21 Cork Street (London).
