Story Telling:- Illustration has long
been an integral part of the process of storytelling.
Today, narrative fictional illustration is
mainly found in children’s books, graphic
novels and comic strips, along with thematic
compilations and, increasingly, animations.
Telling stories with or through illustration
involves thought about sequencing, characterisation,
atmosphere and pace. The illustrator also needs
to understand the subtleties of the relationship
between words and pictures and the expectations
of genres in terms of style and appearance.
Making up a story demands imagination and creativity,
which is why much innovative and exciting illustration
appears in fictional narratives.
